With the help of QuickTime Alternative, Windows' Media Player Classic can become the default player for MOV, QT, and HDMOV files.
Here you can configure audio preferences: play using safe mode or direct sound, set the sound output (rate, size, channels), and choose the music synthesizer. There’s no interface attached to the program except a window where you can configure QuickTime options. You are offered the Quicktime base components (ActiveX and browser plugins) and Media Player Classic. Deployment requires your assistance only to select the components you wish to install. In order to avoid installation errors, it is recommended to uninstall all QuickTime related products.
The application also includes Media Player Classic. The codec collection included in this package allows you to play formats proprietary to Apple without having to actually install the QuickTime media player. QuickTime Alternative is an ultra-light version of QuickTime that bundles the essential components needed for playing MOV and QT files in the following web browsers: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Mozilla, Opera and Netscape.
